Elephants are good people!



One of the interesting things about my wife’s late grandmother is that she collected elephants!  She was an amazing woman and I wish I had had the chance of meeting her…  In my own silly way, this is a homage to this wonderful lady.
(Never mind the little rat, when they wear top hats, they are guaranteed to be harmless. Also, the pattern on the background was inspired by one of my favorite Brazilan artists…)

Brazilian Bird

Sorry it has been a while since my last post... I've been super busy, but it is no excuse!
My wife asked me to do this collage/drawing for our daughter's nursery, the bird here is an Araçari, which ranges all the way from the south of Brasil up to the Amazon, covering pretty much the whole western half of the country...

Monkey Business


I'm a big admirer of monkeys. I used to live in an apartment that faced the trees back in Rio de Janeiro (Rio's urban area is surrounded by forests) and I would see them come and go every now and again. They were extremely intelligent, very social, resourceful and displayed a wide range of personalities and moods...

Burlesque!


I was fortunate to find a group of life drawing enthusiasts here in London. To my surprise a lot of the models are Burlesque performers and often pose in costume. This was done after one of my life drawing studies of one of these performers.
